The Top 10 Questions Doctors should ask their Future Employer

01

Pay structures are complicated. What is my true pay going to be (minus lab costs, adjustments, collection rate for the office, procedures I do not get paid for like whitening and xrays)?

02

For me to grow, I know I need support. How are you going to support my growth (mentorship, training portals, CE credit dental analytics to track my performance)?

03

I love my work, but I don't want my work to be my life. Do you make me give up my weekends? Do you offer any flexibili-ty, even for weekdays?

04

I know I have to pay my dues but I want an opportunity to partner. What can you tell me about that? Do you offer a true equity ownership stake in your business?

05

Dental technology leads to a better patient experience and quality of care. What are all of the changes you have made to your office and what do you plan to implement in the future (intra-oral cameras, dry shields, 3D scanner, CBCT)?

06

For me to grow, I know I need support. How are you going to support my teammates that ultimately support me? (Dental Assistants, Hygienists, Business Assistants)

07

Do you know what Shift Work Disorder is and what are you doing to help prevent that in your organization? An example is a 7am start one day, and a 7pm end the next day.

08

Anxiety and burnout is prevalent in our profession. How do your systems and processes help fight against this problem?

09

I know dentistry can be a lonely profession. Tell me how the word "community" relates to your organization.
